Inspirations for my designs

When I find myself in need of inspiration I try these things

My Mother was a big costume jewelry wearer. She loved to be bedecked in matching and interesting costume jewelry. When she passed my younger brother took it and a few years later he passed them onto me. I wear very little jewelry so what to do. I decided I could add them to my design work so most of the embellishments on my pieces have a little of my mom in them. So I thought my sisters can appreciate the use of the “family jewels”.

Ribbons

I get different colors of ribbons in the theme of colors I like and then try them in different combinations.

Colored Paper

I take swatches of yarns I have to the arts and craft stores and go to their paper isles and get a sheet of paper for each of the color of yarns I have. Pick which one I want to use on a project and tear or cut them into shapes I want to use. I now have a project and can see where I want the colors to go. See “I’m Torn” finished piece on sculptural page.
