Mini gallery
A mini gallery spot of all my own and behind glass. My dearest life partner has had this shelving hidden in the garage for many years. After I begun to create pieces and quickly in need of keeping them clean and dust free he unearthed it for me to store them in. I finally was Read more

Taking a break?
Well not really taking a break as just not using felting wool. I found this yarn and wanted to make a Hyggi shrug type. I think I will have enough to make it, ten balls at 50 grams each. Using a “K” bamboo hook and a half double stitch gives this yarn a very nice Read more

In the works
This soft sculpture is not quite finished as I need to apply it to a base. These are different sides of it. Looks kind of like a sea urchin from deep below. Read more

Morbid thoughts, maybe, maybe not.
One of the people I follow, was contemplating the afterlife of their art once they are gone. I too have contemplated the same thing about my choice of art and its afterlife without me. I have suggested that since I will be cremated it could just go along with my body into the crematorium. I Read more

Crochet – The New Fiber Culture
I wrote the below in 2006 much has changed but still make sure crochet continues to have a full seat at the table. It has been whispered for several years, a slow low reverberation, of “crocheters” taking their hooks to task, to the forbidden fibers. Challenging the yarn shop owners to “teach me” to put Read more

“Darkest Hour/ Saved Our Soul“
I think I’m done with my soft sculpture (pillow). The colors were my take off point for this piece. Then came the beading. After finishing the two sides I felt it talking to me about the two sides. The front was muted and dull ish. The three crosses in a circle spoke much of this Read more

And so it begins
Taking a break from the orbs (still working in the round😊) and working on a beaded pillow. These colors are to me, a beautiful combination. Subtle, tonal and calming. The front is free formed and the back is circular. Much like my helmets that I design. Helter-skelter on the one side of the brain, the Read more

Installation complete
First and foremost I want to thank the Carnegie public library in Angola, Indiana for their awesome opportunity. They have a wonderful area for showing. They allow it to run for a month. They had a place card for my business cards and two clear stands for my artisan statement. The Stuben Art Scene generously Read more

Experiment on orb
I decided to see what would happen when I wet the felted orb then paint acrylic paint on it before embellishing on it. I wanted it to bleed a little then have paint on top. We shall see how it ends up once it is dry and embellished. Read more

I’m on fire
I decided to experiment with cleaning up felted wool in a slightly different way. I usually shear it after it’s felted (and still will do) because all the fibers get fuzzy and slightly mask the original colors before the felting process. I decided to burn with a lighter the wool in places where the color Read more

Browns and blues art bag in the works
I know it might seem that I am only doing orbs (ornaments/spheres) or whatever you call them but I am also working on an art bag too. They take longer to create but very satisfying. These are the colors I am using. The bag base is a wool blanket. It will be in during the Read more
