I finished another small piece in my series. This is crocheted wool yarn felted then cotton threads stitched into it. Complimentary beads scattered throughout. Additional novelty yarns are added.
-
I took a break to readjust since finishing the series of orbs/balls/ovum. So this small is my departure from them. I am considering doing a series of smalls. I am not finished with this yet. Will add pictures of completed here.

I have two very different ova in the works right now. I think that I have about two more that are felted. Once they are done I think I am retiring the ova’s.
-
I was looking through my old crochet stuff and came across this My sister (Deb) found it and gave it to me. It’s a 1974 simplicity pattern. I never tried to follow pattern but it is a treasure to keep.
-
This is a smaller one in width and decided to keep it all tonal. simple and soft.
-
It seems like this took a long time was fun to do. These are pictures from different views.
-
I struggled with the finishing of this one. I like to colors and design but just was not sure it was filled in enough.
-
What a wonderful for joining a board of directors. It is green and clear glass paint brush. It is approximately 13” long. I hope that I live up to this gift.
-
Finished! It’s about 3” X 3”luster tinted beads, satin leaves, silver hearts and French knots dotted throughout. It coming along. Not quite finished. Silver hearts scattered through out.

I had a few felted items that I did not like so I thought I would cut them up and adhere them to a pin. Here are a few that I have completed so far. they are different sizes.

Here is the beginning of one of the firecrackers. Turned it into a great. What shall I embellish it with?
-
Soft green and golden mustard firecracker has the look of a sea urchin. Made with soft green bubbles of many shapes along with golden bugle beads topped gold balls.
-
This dual firecracker looks a little like a wreath or a pretzel. Copper rings, red beads, tri-tone cotton flowers and soft green leaves.

As a woman of that certain age (70) I hear many conversations of our body changed from a fertile to infertile. An idea came to my mind that maybe I am making ovum and not orbs. Being that I have never had an ovum fertilized hence no children I see each of these ova as…

I was gifted some interesting yarn. And once I looked closer at it, it was tubelike. I decided to see if I liked it pulled over my ovum. It was fun! The beads were sewn in the cross hatches and additional beads in the in between parts. A little gold beads for a glimmer. The…

Here are steps and the finished ovum. Used olive green flat chenille for the raised stems, white felted flowers with brass flowers and brass leaves. Red and green beads, burgundy crochet thread for French knots and fuchsia glitter threads all on a taupe felted ovum.
-
I’ve started a new ovum that is being done in all blues. I wanted to show it before and during the beading process. I find it hard because I like both the un- beaded side and the beading.
-
Having different types of leather laying around I decided to make a masculine type of ovum. Using brass studs, studded leather suede strips and brass nails to evoke that masculine look on a rust felted ovum.
-
I really like the way this turned out. The two shades of peach russet and buttercream yellow with complimentary beading. Flecks of gold adds to its dimension. This also can be posed but is not a toy. Length is approximately 9” and the width without beadwork is approximately 1”.

I decided if I could make my Firecracker into soft sculpture necklaces. I do like the way this one turned out. I will be trying a few more.
