This felting day but there are several moments that I have to wait so I bring things today. Here is another neck piece I’m working on. These do not get felted. The crocheted piece is all one item. There is no re-attaching for the front back and flap. The embellishment is separate. I’m making this…

Today has warmed up enough to felt. Still need to be inside but garage is warm enough. the old girl is working just great!!

Well as one knows, one thing leads to another. Finished sorting threads which now lead to resetting yarns. Oh dear, what a mess gets made when one starts yarn! How to sort, by weight? Color? Type? Solids versus variegated? Where to place so one does not forget that one even has them. I will say,…
-
Added blue/silver thread and mylar around the multi colored threads. Beading sewn in then multi colored yarn run through the beads. Not finished yet but getting closer.
-
Well here is it moving along nicely. I need a few more containers as some are getting too full. I might combine the black and white together as I don’t have lots of them. Now that they are coming together my fingers are itching to start using them 😊
-
Yarn puzzle! Yeah. These are wrapped together so I am going to separate them also. Finished!!
-
I have been working on the red piece and was looking for particular yarns so this morning, I decided I wanted to begin sorting my smalls. The clear bins are from granola plastic containers. I like that they have lids and are stackable. Wish me luck.
-
This is where I have started to add beads and reinforced the folds. they are side 1 and side 2. More embellishing will be done.
-
I decided to use multi colored yarn to accentuate the red. Crocheted a long piece and stitched it down then stitched around the edge. Now to fold it up a bit.
-
I showed a while ago folded red piece so today I started working on it. long way to go but as always interest abounds.
-
Well, I had a piece I had cut away from the folded green and decided to work with that first. It’s kind of an envelope shape with an ear mark. Using that found some crescent green shell shapes and attached them with silver decorative earring pieces. So far so good.
-
Here is another accidental folded crocheted felted wool piece I pulled out. Interesting folds at either end. I feel this longer piece should be sliced into small pieces.
-
I went through my finished crocheted felted pieces that I had in a tote bag and pulled out this green piece. Because I did not carefully lay it flat it got bunched up. When looking at it in its current state I thought, what a great soft sculpture look. As I turned it this way…

When I worked as a floral designer I found this tape that worked well to protect my fingers. I found it to work great in my thread crochet work too. As you can see I make a type of thimble on my middle finger and just a strip where the yarn/thread crosses my other finger.…
-
Finally think I’m finished with this small brown piece. Approximately 4” long and 2” across.
-
Here is what I’ve decided on for the next step so far. pretty Punch threads and some gears.
-
I now crocheted over the fishing line. I used a variegated yarn to pick up color.
-
From time to time I manipulate the felted piece with fishing line. I don’t hide the line as I will crochet over it as well as manipulate the shape. This shows the weight (25lb) on this piece. On bigger pieces I will use 50lb.

I was at the time, unknowingly blessed. I worked for a company that manufactured goods that used many different types of threads and leather swatches. They were getting rid of all of these so I was given them. I see now it as a wonderful blessing.
