Working in two worlds

I have spent a great deal of time this year setting up my small bedroom turned studio this summer. I have it completed and enjoy time in it. We have pocket doors but my partner feels closed off when I close the door so… I found an expandable rod and dark heavy drape to close it off. He can still hear me and I can feel a little privacy.

But now that it has turned colder there is a possibility we will need to temporarily move closer to town, at our shop so I have set up another work center there just in case.

I made sure I had the many tools at both places that I might need and also have a washing machine at each place. Each place has a little lighted area to photograph finished pieces and cozy nooks to crochet in.

All my yarn is kept at the shop so we check in there every so often for yarns for new projects or frames as well as checking in that it is set up and safe.

If we go into town for a short stay we have to come home to check on the house every few days so can retrieve needed embellishments then.

I carry a backpack that I transport my in progress pieces (see previous blog post for that). It too is packed with crochet hooks and assortment of nendless, pins. Monofilament lines, etc..

I am a very grateful and blessed woman that I have been given this gift of this art form and places to be able to continue when weather events are unsatisfactory to working from home.

It does help that much of my work is small- ish pieces and parts. crocheting is the best medium as I can take it which me and even after felting it is is even smaller (Hahaa).
