I made this piece as a sculpture and had these spines. Thought it fit with what I wanted it to look like. Running the non felting novelty yarns along with the wool as I crochet so that when its felted the novelty yarns bubble to the top. on top of that, layering in depth with the wool gives good depth to the piece.
