Dallas Museum of art visit

I went to the Dallas Museum of art several years ago for a retrospective on fields of wheat by many artists and was inspired by Van Gogh’s wheat Sheave painting. So I went home and this is my interpretation of my take away. I wanted to use the actual wheat as much as possible in this piece so the background I filled in with the stems and made the sheaves from the stems too. They are tied with raffia. The mixing and meddling of the different yarns after the felting process have the hazy look of growth in the land. The sun is just peaking over the fields.
